In February 2004, Domingo and Vivian drove to Jarrett Ford in Dade City, Florida to purchase one of only two F-250 6.0 PSD 4X2 Regular Cab/Long box trucks available, in the country. They envisioned a smaller and faster version of Domingo’s F-350 dually and christened the truck, Mini Me.

With a few minor mods, NOS, Methanol and a scarey tune Mini Me's debut, surpassing 620HP @ the rear wheel, was a 12.67 run at the DHRA Diesel Power Drag Racing series meet April 4, 2004 at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach/Jupiter, Florida. That run time was established although Mini Me blew the turbo and head gaskets at about 2/3’s of the tracks’ ¼-mile. Mini Me had already blown two other turbos testing the truck before going to the track and we determined that we needed to tone down a bit and prepare so that it will withstand the power.

Mini Me sat for a while.

Our next race at Moroso in January of 2005 was the controversial 12.60 on fuel alone run posted by Koolkat on a popular diesel forum. In April 2005 we went back to Moroso and this time Mini Me split the drive shaft in half with a 13.01 @ 103.6. The break caused us to miss the DHRA Pro Street in Bowling Green, Kentucky and World Ford Challenge 8 in St. Louis, Missouri.

At IRP in June for a DHRA Pro Street meet, Mini Me was acting up and never did hook. It did however manage 110 miles per hour with NOS and no breakdown.

Mini Me ran a 12.32 @111.76 mph @ Atltanta Dragway, September 10, 2005 - DHRA Pro Street. Unfortunately, in the following run Mini Me never shifted out of second gear and is now in line for a new and improved transmission.

March 6, 2006 at Orlando Speed World Dragway in Orlando, Florida, Mini Me ran a 12.22, 12.00 and an 11.82, @ 116.8mph, respectively, while still weighing 6,360 Lbs. We were hoping to get another pass in but Fun Ford, disqualified us because they said our tires were too big. On Saturday we had another issue. We had to remove the checkerboard stickers from the windows or get disqualified.

April 23-24 @ Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach/Jupiter, Florida, Mini Me ran a 12.83 @ 105.5mph on fuel alone as DJ was trying out the upgraded kit and converter from Suncoast. Our best fuel only pass had been 13.1 and we were happy about the almost 3/10ths improvement. Our next two runs were with nitrous. Mini Me started acting up with the second pass and on the third, the turbo impeller came out the back of the turbo. Yeah, we broke but we know she's got power and she did drive into the trailer with no hiccups. Think it's time to upgrade the turbo but first she's going to the Fat Farm to lose some extra weight.

We race DHRA Pro Street class and will be going down to our class weight of 5,500 Lbs. More updates coming soon!

Update

We picked Mini Me up in January at Suncoast Race Cars. Richard had taken measurements and designed the work to be done. We planned to make a couple of passes in Gainesville and were to bring her back in February to begin the transformation. At this point Mini Me was still exactly as when we dropped her off months before. We made a pass at Gainesville but the nitrous solenoids weren't working properly and our best was a 12.6 pass on fuel.

We discussed taking Mini Me back to Suncoast and considered that we had not been able to race last year so we decided to keep her the way she sits and build another truck with Mr. Richard Earle at Suncoast Race Cars.

The new truck, whose name we haven't decided on yet, will weigh 2500 lbs. with an 11-inch rear-end originally planned for Mini Me. It will be full chromally tube frame with carbon fiber skin. It will have a linko in front of the rear-end and a 6.0L International engine in front of that.

We have a full-scheduled planned for 2007. We will be running all DHRA East and Midwest events, as well as, World Ford Challenge and the Orlando Fun Ford Weekend event. Please check our schedule and make sure to stop and say "hi" if you're close by.

Thanks,

DJ & Vivian
